Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Momella Gate to Miriakamba Hut
Momella Gate (1,500 meters) to Miriakamba Hut (2,514 meters):
Begin your trek at Momella Gate, the entrance to Arusha National Park. After registration, meet your guide and porters.
Trek through montane forest, observing wildlife like colobus monkeys and birds.
Ascend steadily along well-marked trails, crossing streams.
Arrive at Miriakamba Hut, your first overnight stop. Rest, have dinner, and prepare for the next day's ascent.
Day 2: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut
Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut (3,570 meters):
Depart from Miriakamba Hut after breakfast, continuing your ascent through the forest.
Reach the viewpoint of Mgongo wa Tembo (Elephant Ridge), offering panoramic views of Arusha National Park.
Ascend further through heather and moorland to reach Saddle Hut, situated between Little Meru and Mount Meru.
After arriving at Saddle Hut, rest, have dinner, and prepare for the summit push the next day.
Day 3: Summit Day - Saddle Hut to Summit and back to Miriakamba Hut
Saddle Hut to Summit (4,566 meters) and back to Miriakamba Hut:
Wake up early before dawn to start the summit ascent, equipped with headlamps.
Trek in darkness, following the rocky trail and navigating challenging terrain.
Reach the summit of Mount Meru, Uhuru Peak, just in time for sunrise, enjoying breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the surrounding landscape.
Spend some time at the summit, celebrating your achievement before beginning the descent.
Descend back to Saddle Hut for breakfast and a brief rest before continuing the descent to Miriakamba Hut.
Spend the night at Miriakamba Hut, reflecting on your summit success.
Day 4: Miriakamba Hut to Momella Gate
Miriakamba Hut to Momella Gate:
Descend through the montane forest, retracing your steps from the first day.
Arrive back at Momella Gate, where you'll sign out and receive your trekking certificates.
Celebrate the completion of your Mount Meru trek before departing for your next destination.
