Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Machame Gate to Machame Camp
The journey commences at Machame Gate, where trekkers register and start their ascent. They hike through dense rainforest, surrounded by lush vegetation and diverse wildlife. The day's trek concludes at Machame Camp, the first overnight stop, where trekkers rest and prepare for the days ahead.
Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
The trail continues through the rainforest, gradually ascending into the moorland zone. Trekkers witness the landscape transition as they climb higher, eventually reaching Shira Camp situated on the expansive Shira Plateau. Here, trekkers enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding terrain before settling in for the night.
Day 3: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp
Today's trek involves crossing the Shira Plateau and ascending to Lava Tower for acclimatization. Trekkers then descend to Barranco Camp via the challenging Barranco Wall, a thrilling scramble that rewards climbers with stunning vistas. The day ends with a well-deserved rest at Barranco Camp.
Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Trekkers tackle the Barranco Wall once more before traversing through alpine desert terrain. The journey takes them to Karanga Camp, perched on a rocky ridge with breathtaking views of the mountain and surrounding landscape. Here, trekkers recharge for the days ahead.
Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Today's trek leads to Barafu Camp, the final base camp before the summit push. Trekkers ascend through rocky terrain, preparing mentally and physically for the challenging summit attempt. At Barafu Camp, they rest and refuel, readying themselves for the epic ascent ahead.
Day 6: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (summit) to Mweka Camp
The summit attempt begins in the early hours of the morning, under the cover of darkness. Trekkers ascend steeply towards Stella Point before continuing to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After reaching the summit and soaking in the breathtaking views, trekkers descend to Barafu Camp for a short rest before continuing down to Mweka Camp for the final night on the mountain.
Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
The descent concludes as trekkers make their way through lush rainforest to Mweka Gate, where they sign out and receive their summit certificates. With memories of their epic adventure, trekkers transfer back to their hotel, reflecting on their journey and celebrating their successful ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro.
